Advanced Alarm Progression Mitigating false and nuisance alarms with backend logic and a robust rules engine. Alarms through the VisionAery LLD application are staged. Once a detection meets the criteria to trigger an initial alarm, then the alarm progression begins staging future alarms based on the detection characteristics like growth rates and color changes. A static rain puddle or a common false positive area triggers once and likely never triggers again. In a customer deployment with an operator in the Permian Basin, VisionAery verified a 90% reduction in nuisance and false alarms compared with the previous version of the application over one month. This is a result from that deployment, not a guaranteed reduction for every site. Green Yellow Orange Red Alarm Progression Stage Puddle Detection Questions Does a detected puddle immediately become an alarm? No. The alarm engine applies growth and persistence thresholds, color-confidence checks and zone settings. Puddle alarms progress through green, yellow, orange and red as growth is evaluated; a single frame is not an alarm on its own. Can I exclude areas where water is expected? Yes. Interest zones define the areas to watch, and exclusion zones leave out areas that should not contribute to detection. PTZ cameras support preset-bound zones and tour-aware activation. How does rain handling work? Connect a rain sensor through camera I/O, use a polled I/O module such as an ADAM-6050, or use a weather service. Detection pauses during rain with a post-rain forgiveness window. A failed weather lookup never blocks detection. This helps reduce rain-related events, but does not eliminate all false alarms. Does the model need training on my site? The published benchmark was measured without per-site training. VisionAery V4 Liquid Leak Detection was trained on over 200,000 images. ======================================================================== URL: https://www.visionaery.com/detection/spray Spray Detection | VisionAery Liquid Leak Detection Home Detection Types Spray V4 · SPRAY DETECTION Spray Detection Directional spray and mist from fittings, seals, valves and lines. Well Pad Spray Release Monitor well-pad equipment for visible spray releases so operators can assess the source. Spray Detection Questions Where can spray detection be useful? The supplied examples show water utility pump stations, mining pipework and oil and gas well pads. Coverage depends on whether the camera can see the release with sufficient image detail. Is 98.1% a spray-only detection rate? No. Spray and visible vapor were measured as one combined benchmark class: 98.1% frame-level detection, 3.7% frame-level false positive rate and 0.923 pixel-level F1/Dice on 9,147 previously unseen frames. These model results are before the alarm engine, not a spray-only result or an alarm-rate guarantee. Can it detect an invisible release? No. Spray detection requires a release visible in the camera image. It does not identify a chemical or measure concentration. Can rain be gated? Yes. A camera I/O rain sensor, a polled I/O module or a weather service can pause detection during rain with a post-rain forgiveness window. Failed weather lookups never block detection. Rain gating helps reduce rain-related events, not all false alarms. ======================================================================== URL: https://www.visionaery.com/detection/visible-vapor Visible Vapor Detection | VisionAery Liquid Leak Detection Home Detection Types Visible Vapor V4 · VISIBLE VAPOR DETECTION Visible Vapor Detection An early-warning layer for releases that form a plume your camera can see. Visible Vapor Detection Questions Can it detect invisible gas? No. A release must form a visible plume the camera can see. VisionAery does not identify gas species or measure gas concentration. Was visible vapor measured separately from spray? No. The published 98.1% frame-level detection rate, 3.7% frame-level false positive rate and 0.923 pixel-level F1/Dice cover spray and visible vapor combined. These model results are before the alarm engine, not separate vapor-only measurements or alarm-rate guarantees. Does this replace gas detectors? No. It is a camera-visible early-warning layer, not a replacement for required gas instrumentation, inspections or safety procedures. How was the model trained and evaluated? VisionAery V4 Liquid Leak Detection was trained on over 200,000 images. A · CAMERA VIEWS Cover More of Your Site With One Camera Start with the views you want to monitor. Create presets and guard tours from the LLD application or the camera’s own interface. PTZ Cameras Save a preset for each area of interest, then create a guard tour to move between them. Fixed Cameras Keep a standard fixed view, or enable PTZ mode to move a view area within the camera’s field of view. Use digital zoom and PTZ controls to frame each area, save presets, and build guard tours—even on a fixed camera. More detail where it matters. A focused view area retains more pixel density on your area of interest, helping improve detection accuracy. Higher-resolution cameras make PTZ mode more effective. PTZ Presets and Guard Tours — create and select camera views directly in LLD. Fixed-Camera View — add detection zones or enable PTZ mode directly in LLD. B · DETECTION ZONES Watch What Matters. Exclude What Doesn’t. Draw areas of interest to define where LLD should look for leaks, and exclusion zones to leave unwanted areas out of detection. Zones That Follow Your Presets Bind both interest and exclusion zones to individual presets. Each zone activates only when its preset is in view, so one camera can precisely monitor multiple areas across your site. Independent Monitoring for Each Area Add as many interest and exclusion zones per preset as you need. Each interest zone has its own alarms, telemetry, and alarm-progression settings. Detection Zones — define monitoring areas, assign them to presets, and see each zone’s alarm status. C · ZONE SETTINGS Balance Detection Speed and Alarm Confidence Name each area of interest and choose puddle detection, spray detection, or both. Then select the sensitivity that fits the scene and your operational needs. High Your best chance of quick detection, with a higher chance of false and nuisance alarms. Average A balance between detection speed and reducing false and nuisance alarms. Low Takes longer to detect, but prioritizes alarm accuracy with the lowest false and nuisance alarm rates. Need more control? Open Advanced to customize the settings for your application. Check your monitored areas after dark, too: artificial lighting or the camera’s NIR illumination should keep the scene clearly visible. Zone Settings — name your area, choose a detection model and sensitivity, or open Advanced for more control. 04 Set Up Integrations A · DATA INTEGRATIONS Bring LLD Into the Systems You Already Use Send alarms to your VMS, connect telemetry to SCADA, or build a custom workflow with three prebuilt data integrations. HTTP Webhooks · Custom Workflows Connect LLD to systems beyond VMS and SCADA. Send an alarm to a webhook receiver that triggers an email, sends an SMS, or archives snapshots and alarm history in an FTP folder. LLD delivers the webhook; your receiving service handles the notification or file storage. HTTP Webhooks — send alarm payloads and snapshots to your receiving system. B · RAIN SENSOR INTEGRATION Use Rain Data to Reduce Nuisance Alarms Bring rain data into LLD through one of three connections, so the application can account for wet weather when managing alarms. Camera I/O · Recommended Connect a rain sensor directly to the camera’s I/O ports when available. This is the preferred connection for local rain sensing. External I/O Module Use an I/O module, such as an Advantech ADAM module, to bring a physical rain sensor’s data into the application. Weather Service API With internet access from the camera, connect to a web-based weather service. Use weather data for the site’s coordinates to control the application’s rain function. Upload a short video from one of your sites and watch the V4 model draw puddle, spray and vapor overlays frame by frame. No install, no signup. Send a clip of one of your wellheads. How the Liquid Leak Detection demo works Join the queue, upload a short clip from one of your own sites, and watch V4 process it frame by frame on a live stream — no install and no signup. This public demo runs the V4 model on a clip it has never seen, without zones, presets or the alarm engine, so it shows detections rather than alarms. In a deployment, zones and the staged alarm engine turn those detections into the alarms your operators act on. Want the full capability breakdown, standards, and deployment detail? See the Explore Liquid Leak Detection types. Connecting you to the demo… QUESTIONS About the Liquid Leak Detection demo How this live demo works, and how detections become alarms in a deployment. Is this the real model? This public demo runs the V4 model on a clip it has never seen, without zones, presets or the alarm engine, so it shows detections rather than alarms. What can it detect? The analytic flags visible liquid-leak signatures — puddles, pressurized spray, and visible vapor plumes — the same signatures it watches for on tank batteries, wellheads, and gathering lines in the field. Why might it miss or misfire on my clip? Coverage needs about 25 pixels per foot on target. Unusual scenes may fall outside the scenarios tested. The demo has no zones, presets or staged alarm engine. No per-site training is required in a deployment. What happens to my clip? Your clip is used solely to run the demo for your session. There is no install and no signup; if you would rather not upload your own footage, you can simply watch the live stream while you are in the queue. How do I run it on my own cameras? Install V4 on a supported Axis ARTPEC-9 or Hanwha Wisenet 9 camera, or on an edge server taking RTSP streams. Download for Axis or contact us for a 30-day evaluation license. ON YOUR SITE. Purpose-Built Vision. We build edge-first computer vision that scales with your operations and integrates with the systems you already use. Meet the Founders Connect With Our Team GET TO KNOW US Our Story Founders Advisory Board How We Build Deployments OUR BEGINNINGS Our Story VisionAery was founded in 2023 with one guiding principle: to be the best in the world at building complex computer vision solutions for problems that have yet to be solved in a scalable way. That has been our hedgehog concept since day one. What we lack in variety of analytics, we make up for in the quality of the niche solutions we bring to market. VisionAery is a bootstrapped company founded by Kaylor Greenstreet and Casey Rawlins, who both came from industrial contract integration services. Their deep knowledge of data integration and remote systems has shaped our emphasis on edge-first, scalable solutions that integrate with our customers' existing systems. Now in its fourth generation of Liquid Leak Detection, VisionAery has made considerable strides toward reliability in this application. We plan to continue innovating and bringing other solutions to market that are just as effective as Liquid Leak Detection. THE PEOPLE Founders Kaylor Greenstreet Chief Executive Officer Connect on LinkedIn Kaylor Greenstreet serves as CEO of VisionAery and brings deep knowledge of remote system design and product execution. He is also a partner at Twin Eagle Solutions, an industrial communications integrator that has been successfully in business for over 26 years. In his free time, Kaylor enjoys golfing and has been known to schedule the occasional four-hour meeting on the course. Kaylor also planted a Christian church in Wichita in September 2026 and serves as a deacon. Casey Rawlins Chief Technology Officer Connect on LinkedIn Casey Rawlins serves as CTO of VisionAery and brings an incredible breadth of knowledge in camera capabilities and data and system integration. Before co-founding VisionAery, Casey was involved in multiple startups, including Thermal Radar and Azena. His passion for knowledge and innovation, combined with his practical know-how, has been invaluable in creating the VisionAery LLD product. One of Casey's special talents is his ability to have a podcast or audiobook playing in the background while he is working and still consume its content with perfect retention without having to focus on it. In his free time, Casey enjoys taking his wife dancing. ADVISORY BOARD Built with the people who use it VisionAery is guided by an advisory board of industry experts drawn from the operations we serve. We lean on them for honest, strategic feedback on our solutions — pressure-testing what we build against real field conditions so every product we bring to market solves an actual problem our customers have, not one we imagined for them. "We never want to be our own sounding board when it comes to the products we think are useful. We will always ask our customers for their input and honest feedback about the solutions we bring to the market." Kaylor Greenstreet — Chief Executive Officer, VisionAery OUR PRINCIPLES How We Build The principles behind every model we train and every site we deploy. Hands in the dirt We don't build analytics from California, New York, or overseas. We get into the use case as deep as we can — because that's the only way to truly understand the problem and how to solve it. Real data, never synthetic We train our models on real footage only. Synthetic data strips away the dirty, messy nuances of real industrial sites — AI can't recreate every imperfect condition an operator faces day to day. Solve the unsolved We built VisionAery on the hedgehog concept: focus relentlessly on solving real-world, complex problems that haven't been solved before. IN THE FIELD Where we're deployed. Countries Canada, United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Australia, UAE. US states North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, California, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Alabama. QUESTIONS Frequently asked questions Who is VisionAery? VisionAery builds Liquid Leak Detection for industrial operators and commercial and retail sites. When was VisionAery founded? Axis ARTPEC-9 · Available now Other platforms scheduled for November 15, 2026. Confirm ARTPEC-9 and AXIS OS The supported on-camera Axis platform is ARTPEC-9, on fixed or PTZ cameras running AXIS OS 12.11 or later. Confirm both the camera’s processor platform and its installed OS before downloading. The application has been verified on AXIS Q6325-LE, P1475-LE and Q1728. This is not a claim that every Axis camera supports the application. Plan the views you want to monitor On a mechanical PTZ camera, save presets for your areas of interest and create a guard tour. Detection zones bind to presets. A fixed camera can keep a standard view or use LLD’s PTZ mode to move a view area, digitally zoom, save presets and build tours. Focused view areas retain more pixel density on the area of interest; higher-resolution cameras make this mode more effective. Check the scene after dark Nighttime detection requires artificial lighting or the camera’s near-infrared (NIR) illumination. Check that each monitored area remains clearly visible; nighttime support does not mean detection in unlit darkness. Axis ARTPEC-9 · Available now Other platforms scheduled for November 15, 2026. VMS alarms through the Axis event engine LLD publishes stateless alarms through the Axis event engine. Your VMS must support Axis event-engine integration. This path has been tested with Genetec, Milestone, AXIS Camera Station and Network Optix. Tested integration is not a certification claim or a guarantee of support in every VMS configuration. MQTT for alarms and telemetry Use the embedded MQTT broker to connect alarm and telemetry data to SCADA or another data platform. Choose standard JSON, Sparkplug B, or both to match the receiving system. JSON and Sparkplug B use the same MQTT transport; they are payload options, not separate transport connections. A direct integration with Inductive Automation’s Ignition is documented on the Axis page. An included guide covers converting the MQTT payload into Modbus or OPC UA. These are documented conversion paths, not native Modbus or OPC UA output from LLD. HTTP webhooks for receiver-side workflows Send alarms and optional snapshots to a webhook receiver. LLD delivers the webhook; the receiving service handles actions such as sending email or SMS, or archiving snapshots and alarm history in an FTP folder. Plan the receiving workflow as well as the LLD connection. Configuring a webhook alone does not create an email, SMS or file-storage service. Connect rain data where needed Use a physical rain sensor connected to the camera’s I/O ports where available, or connect through an external I/O module such as an Advantech ADAM module. A weather-service API is another option when the camera has internet access. Use weather data for the site’s coordinates to control the application’s rain function. Scope of this guide These are the prebuilt integration paths documented for the Axis application. Check your receiving system’s support before configuring a connection. Axis ARTPEC-9 · Available now Other platforms scheduled for November 15, 2026. Start with what the camera can see LLD uses computer vision to detect puddles, spray and visible vapor. Frame the areas you want to monitor and define interest zones and exclusion zones in the application. Use camera presets to organize views where appropriate. A focused view area retains pixel density on the monitored area, helping improve detection. Provide illumination at night Detection continues at night with artificial lighting or the camera’s near-infrared (NIR) illumination. Review the actual monitored views after dark to check that the scene remains clearly visible. Do not treat nighttime support as operation in unlit darkness. This guide does not claim a separate NIR performance benchmark. Balance sensitivity against nuisance alarms High sensitivity prioritizes quick detection with a higher chance of false and nuisance alarms. Average balances detection speed and nuisance-alarm reduction. Low takes longer to detect while prioritizing alarm accuracy. Choose settings for each monitored area and use Advanced settings when more control is needed. Puddle Advanced Alarm Progression is not a spray or visible-vapor feature. Account for wet weather Rain data helps LLD account for wet weather when managing alarms. A rain sensor connected directly to the camera’s I/O ports is the recommended local connection where available. An external I/O module is another physical-sensor route. A weather-service API requires internet access from the camera. Choose the connection that fits the site rather than assuming outdoor deployment includes a rain-data source. Scope of this guide A practical scene-setup guide, not a universal operating envelope. Evaluate the views and alarm behavior in your own environment. Axis ARTPEC-9 · Available now Other platforms scheduled for November 15, 2026. 9,147 Frames Not Used for Training The evaluation set contained 9,147 frames: 4,657 positive frames and 4,490 negative frames. None of these evaluation frames were used to train the model. These are totals for the evaluation set, not a per-detection-head breakdown. The published detection rates were measured without per-site training and before the alarm engine was applied. Frame-Level Detection Rate A positive frame counts as detected when the model correctly detects more than 50% of the actual leak area. The threshold is strictly greater than 50%, not greater than or equal to 50%. Detection rate = qualifying detected positive frames ÷ evaluated positive frames. This measures whether enough of the leak was found in a frame; it is not the same as pixel-level recall. Frame-Level False Positive Rate A negative frame counts as a false positive when the model marks more than 10% of the entire frame as a detection. The threshold is strictly greater than 10%. False positive rate = qualifying false-positive negative frames ÷ evaluated negative frames. Smaller erroneous detections do not count under this frame-level definition, but their pixels still contribute to pixel-level false positives where a human mask is available. This percentage is not the share of alarms that are false, nor a false-alarm count per hour or per camera. Pixel-Level Precision and Recall Model predictions are compared with human-drawn masks. True positives (TP) are pixels marked as liquid by both model and human. False positives (FP) are pixels marked by the model but not the human. False negatives (FN) are pixels marked by the human but missed by the model. Precision = TP / (TP + FP). Of the pixels the model highlighted, how many were also marked by the human? Recall = TP / (TP + FN). Of the pixels the human marked, how many did the model find? F-Score: F1 / Dice F1 = 2 × (precision × recall) / (precision + recall) = 2 × TP / (2 × TP + FP + FN). This is the Dice coefficient. The harmonic mean balances precision and recall: highlighting too much introduces false positives, while missing leak pixels introduces false negatives. A strong score requires both accurate and complete segmentation. TP, FP and FN are accumulated across every evaluation frame with a human mask for the relevant detection head, then one F1 score is calculated from those totals. This is not an average of per-frame F1 scores. Pixels contribute according to their area, so larger regions contribute more pixels than smaller ones. Reading the Published Results Puddle: 97.1% frame-level detection rate, 0.8% frame-level false positive rate and 0.889 pixel-level F1/Dice. Spray and visible vapor combined: 98.1% frame-level detection rate, 3.7% frame-level false positive rate and 0.923 pixel-level F1/Dice. Spray and visible vapor share a combined benchmark; these are not separate spray-only and vapor-only results. The 50% and 10% frame-level thresholds are not the rules for calculating F1. These model measurements do not measure the effect of alarm progression, rain inputs or other alarm rules. They do not substantiate a separate percentage reduction in operational false or nuisance alarms, or a separate nighttime/NIR performance score. Separate Customer Result: Alarm Reduction In a customer deployment with an operator in the Permian Basin, VisionAery verified a 90% reduction in nuisance and false alarms compared with the previous version of the application over one month. This is a deployment-specific operational result, separate from the 9,147-frame model evaluation. It is not a 90% improvement in detection accuracy, an independently audited result, or a guarantee of the same reduction at other sites. Scope of this guide Methodology supplied by VisionAery. Frame-level rates and pixel-level F1 measure different things. Results describe the evaluation set, not a guarantee of alarm performance at every site. Detection, alarm staging and the web dashboard are served from that device. There is no VisionAery cloud service in the path, and the software works with no internet connection. What goes to your systems, and how The software publishes alarms, telemetry (device and detection status) and snapshots to the systems you configure: native camera events into your VMS, MQTT with JSON or Sparkplug B to your broker, and HTTP webhooks to your tools. By default these travel over your local network to a broker, VMS or endpoint you control. They reach the public internet only if you configure a destination there. Video itself is never sent anywhere for processing. The one connection that leaves the site by design is the optional weather-service lookup for the rain gate, and only if you enable it. A failed weather lookup never blocks detection. What VisionAery receives: nothing The software sends no usage data to VisionAery, does not phone home, and performs no remote license check. Licenses are signed, hardware-bound entitlements validated on the device: stream counts, expiry, clock-rollback and tamper detection are all enforced locally. An entitlement authorizes channels on exactly one device and does not travel with the hardware. The only recovery from an invalid license state is a re-issued entitlement from VisionAery. Packages and updates Downloads are signed packages obtained from visionaery.com after EULA acceptance; the Axis application is a signed ACAP package. The model is encrypted inside the package. Updates are applied by installing a new package on the device; nothing updates itself over the network. Configuration can be backed up and restored from the dashboard. Access and audit The dashboard is served by the device and sits behind the camera's or server's own authentication. EULA acceptance is recorded on the device. Alarm records with snapshots can be exported through your VMS or your MQTT and webhook integrations for audit. Website data The website collects only what you submit on the contact, quote, trial and download forms, and the download acceptance record. Details and deletion requests are on the privacy page. What we do not claim No compliance certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001, CJIS) are held today. If a deployment requires one, contact support@visionaery.com for the current security package. QUESTIONS FAQ Is VisionAery cloud-based? No. Processing, alarms and the dashboard run on the camera or on an edge server at your site. Does any video leave my site? No video leaves the site for processing. Alarms, telemetry and snapshots go only to the VMS, MQTT broker or webhook endpoints you configure, over your local network unless you point them elsewhere. Does it need an internet connection? No. Internet is needed only for the optional weather-service rain gate and for downloading packages. Does the software send anything to VisionAery? No. There is no phone-home, no usage reporting and no remote license check. Telemetry over MQTT goes to your own broker, not to VisionAery. How are licenses enforced? Signed, hardware-bound entitlements validated locally on the device. How do updates work? You download a signed package and install it on the device. Nothing auto-updates over the network.
