ACAP by Axis Communications makes it incredibly easy to download computer vision applications directly on the camera. Axis also has deep integrations with most video management systems which would make it incredibly easy to integrate the VisionAery application stream, data, and alerts into your VMS platform of choice. ​​
Streamlined Sourcing and Installation
VisionAery does not sell direct to end user, so your options for sourcing the cameras needed to run the VisionAery applications are much better then with the edge server option. Because of the wide variety of distributors that sell Axis products, you can source your cameras from just about anywhere and then buy the VisionAery Applications from any one of our incredible resellers.

With the VisionAery application running directly on the Axis ARTPEC-8 cameras, installation and deployment is quick and easy. Unlike our edge server deployment, there is only one piece of hardware to install. From there you can quickly connect the application stream to your VMS of choice and start setting up your VisionAery Application on each site.

All VisionAery applications peak MQTT natively and can easily be converted to ModbusTCP if required. Most commonly, we are sending MQTT data through customer SCADA systems or video management systems for alerts.​​

Budget Contraints
If you have a reduced budget for installing computer vision analytics at your site, then direct on camera is a much less expensive solution because of the reduction in hardware cost.
Limited Space or Power
If you have a limited amount of space to mount equipment or constraints on power consumption, then a direct on camera solution is perfect because of the smaller form factor, less equipment, and less power needs.
